NEXT GAME - Saturday June 20th at 6:30 PM. Again...6:30, Shane....not 6:45.

The Commish sent out the following team rosters:

Team 1: James, Shipley, Shane, Lucian, Bernell, Kim, Joe, Lisette, Lindsey
Team 2: Milligan, Jeremy, Spaulding, Shoo (forgive any misspelling), Harley, Lee Anne, Crystal, Jean, Gina Shipley

those of you who couldn't make it the first time, but would like to come out this time, we'll just get you on a team when you get there. we did have enough for a good game this last time, but more people would be better. so get on out there with us!

venue:
as of now, the park will stay the same: Lakeland Hills park, at the intersection of St. Francis and Hunnicut - where the public skate park was built. having a couple of beers afterward was very nice, so we'll plan on doing that again. this time it'll be BYOB. however, please do BYOB, as beer makes everything more fun. we'll plan on hosting at our place again, unless someone REALLY has a burning desire to invite everyone to their place.

couple of rules questions came up on saturday:
1. can you steal a base? answer: NO. this is only because it's too difficult, even for athletic people, to turn around and accurately wing a kickball to second or third base, much less for us. people like shipley will just steal their way home every time they get on base. (shipley's a jerk like that)
2. can you lead off of the base you're on? answer: YES. leading off (standing a few feet off of the base you're on towards the next one) gives us slow bastards some hope of advancing to the next base when a teammate kicks.

Someone with better artistic skills, please enhance this....add some shading, maybe color in the ball....or make the ball a skull and crossbones and then print up some shirts with our names on them!

If you have a problem with your picture being posted here, talk to my lawyer....he's the one that kept dropping the ball.

1st Game - Scrimmage

On June 6th, the first season of the East Dallas Kickball Association (EDKA) was officially kicked off. We'll call this one a scrimmage since we split teams up in the 1-2-1-2-1-2 method. Jeremy Bennett, also known as the Commish will be splitting up official teams in the next few days.

There were leg injuries right from the start (wont name names), a few out fielders that couldn't catch a ball, and 90 degree weather.

I'll post some pictures, but let me just mention that I was on Team 2 and that's who is mainly in these photos. The camera man will be more fair next time and we'll get some official team photos.

I'll also post the official Team Rosters once they're out along with Team Names, captains, schedules etc.
